MCCAIN & OBAMA ASKED NOT TO CAMPAIGN ON 9/11 ANNIVERSARY
John McCain and Barack Obama have been asked to suspend all campaigning on September 11, as a way to show respect for the victims. MyGoodDeed.org, a group comprised of families of 9/11 victims, sent letters to both Presidential candidates saying, "We ask that you and your staff will dedicated a portion of that sacred day to community service, honoring the spirit of unity that brought our nation together in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks." The group also invited both Obama and McCain to participate in a "ServiceNation Summit" in New York on September 11. McCain said he planned to attend, while Obama had not yet confirmed plans. It will be very interesting to see how each candidate handles their campaigns on this day. We applaud the move by this group and think it's a splendid idea. [MyGoodDeed]
