GUESS WHO'S COMING TO 'LIPSTICK JUNGLE'?
With CASHMERE MAFIA canceled (yes, we're still bitter), looks like we'll have to embrace NBC's LIPSTICK JUNGLE as the modern day SEX AND THE CITY replacement. The new season of LIPSTICK starts September 24 and will feature a brand new member to it's cast. Mary Tyler Moore (aka Mary Richards) will return to television by way of the jungle in a multi-episode engagement playing the part of Wendy Healy's (Brooke Shields) mother.
TELEVISION ICON AND SEVEN-TIME EMMY WINNER MARY TYLER MOORE GUEST-STARS IN MULTI-EPISODE ARC ON NBC'S 'LIPSTICK JUNGLE'
BURBANK - June 18, 2008 - Television icon and seven-time Emmy Award winner Mary Tyler Moore will guest-star on NBC's drama "Lipstick Jungle" (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) in a multi-episode arc starting in the season premiere on Wednesday, September 24.
Moore will play Joyce, a retired high-powered exec who forces (Brooke Shields), her studio-head daughter, to re-evaluate the work vs. family dilemma. Having blazed a trail for working women back in the 1970s and 1980s, Joyce challenges Wendy's idealistic notion of "having it all" -- leaving her overachieving daughter in a tailspin.
As we wait for the new season to begin, let's take a look back at a past W & D post featuring the hottie, Robert Buckley. Enjoy this.
