It was showtunes night (or more specifically Andrew Lloyd Webber night) on AMERICAN IDOL this evening, and one of W&D's favorite contestants faltered big time . . . and may just find herself going home tomorrow night. But more on that in a bit.
Derrick and I both agree that the best of show award goes to David Archuleta and his unique take on "Think of Me" . . . the boy was absolutely fantastic even if seemingly lost track of his vocals for a nanosecond. I think the new arrangement was fabulous, and I imagine that this will be a definite Itunes purchase when it becomes available. I was surprised to hear Simon call the performance forgettable, but I still think this teenager is the contestant to beat. Go David A!!
We also really liked David Cook's "Music of the Night" as well, but we have come to expect more from him than the straight-forward take he offered up tonight.
As for the Bottom 3 performers, we are going to have to predict that Syesha Mercado, Jason Castro, and our beloved Brooke White are going to be the ones facing elimination tomorrow night. I personally believe that Syesha and Jason put forth the weakest vocals of the night, while Brooke's were better . . . however, her false start and flubbing of the lyrics at the beginning of her number are probably going to be her downfall tomorrow night.
I hope and pray that I am wrong, as I really think Brooke deserves to stay in the competition until at least the Top 3, but I have a very bad feeling about her chances at this point in the game. So, please prove me wrong and vote for Brooke!!
Tune in to Fox tomorrow night to find out who stays and who goes!
